Showing a sustained commitment to high standards in the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM), Respira International was officially accredited by The International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA) in June 2022.

Andrea Abrahams, Managing Director, The International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance said:

“We are thrilled to welcome Respira International as a new ICROA Accredited Organisation. By successfully completing an independent Audit to assure compliance with the ICROA Code of Best Practice, Respira has demonstrated its commitment to the highest quality and integrity in the VCM.”

Respira International recognises the potential that high-quality carbon credits hold. Done well, they allow companies to counterbalance their residual emissions on their pathways to net zero. However, the quality and robustness of these credits must be verified to ensure the benefits are reliable, tangible and legitimate.

Through its Accreditation Programme, ICROA signposts examples of best practice in the VCM. Promoting only credits of the highest standard of environmental integrity, its Label can be seen as an assurance of quality, integrity and a measure of true robustness.

Going forward, Respira International will be monitored through annual third-party audits to ensure that projects continue to comply with ICROA’s Code of Best Practice. With such thorough vetting, Respira International is proud to have become an ICROA Accredited Organisation and looks forward to working with ICROA to build and sustain integrity in the VCM.
